Meredith

I will start with a few facts about me. I’ve never been to any music festival, and  I’ve never actually camped until ‘Meredith’. Yes, it’s true. You ask me, how come? I ask myself the same question. I’ve been to many concerts and slept under the sky once. That’s it. We have this music festival in Poland called ‘Woodstock’ which is not really my thing,  I guess I’m more ‘Opener’ person (another festival) anyway I’ve never joined either of them.

When a friend of mine told me about a spare ticket – my first thought was – this is my time! So I said that I was going, barely knowing who was playing.

A few weeks before the festival, I started being a bit nervous, asking myself how it’s going to be, as I couldn’t compare it to any of my previous experiences. Two biggest apprehensions 1) 3 days full of rain 2) possibility of being trampled by the crowd.

A few words about Meredith! It’s a music festival held every December at the “Supernatural Amphitheatre”, located on private farmland near the town of Meredith in Victoria. A self-funded, non-commercial event that was first held in 1991. Sounds pretty cool, doesn’t it?

I met my favorite power ranger ❤ haha

The Meredith Gift is a completely nude or underwearing sprint and takes place on the Sunday afternoon of each Meredith. The Gift is run and won over an extended track; instead of being a straight dash, competitors run AROUND the Amphitheatre – yep, a Nude Loop Around The Sup’.  Sorry, no photos:(

I had an amazing time! First of all, we drove 12 hrs to get there ❤ I just love traveling by car, no matter how far – those views, and the sky full of stars – finally I could admire the stars, far away from the city where it’s almost impossible.

The weather was actually really nice – we were just lucky! The first day was a bit cold and then the weather was getting warm. The second day was the best, I was dancing all night long ❤ The tradition of this festival is that most of the people bring couches with them to sit comfortably during the day and then have a spot to find each other when night dancing. We had a pretty big dog! It was, comfy, nice and cozy! and crazy 😀 haha

Maybe not a perfect shot, but with disco baby!

Music was actually very in my taste! I’m a big fan of Warpaint – the show was really good  – they just didn’t perform my favorite song called ‘baby’ but you can’t get everything that you want, can you?  Even though I didn’t know half of the artists, it didn’t really matter because the atmosphere was just amazing, and we had so much fun.

I couldn’t be more Australian haha…

Camping was awesome! I found just one spider inside the tent – very small one with red back 😀 nooo, I’m joking:D No spiders at all. It was nice and cozy, next time I just have to remember to take the sleeping mat with me, so the ground is not that hard. Sleeping in a tent can be very enjoyable so yeah, I’m gonna camp more often!

The best memories? Watching the sunset sitting on top of the field altogether. Extraordinary experience!

I went there with the group of friends, I’m kind of the newest member :D, haha. They are amazing people, love them all and I’m very happy that I’m very welcome always when I’m with them:)

Meredith – is a small town,  170 km from Melbourne, not that far from Geelong. The area is beautiful, I completely forgot how different are each part of Australia.
